Dwayne Shipp · Santa Ana, CA

As a Community Development Commissioner, caregiver, and community organizer, I am running for Mayor because I believe Santa Ana deserves leadership that listens, leads with integrity, and puts residents first. Our city is filled with hardworking families, thriving businesses, and young people who deserve every opportunity to succeed.

Through years of community service, I have worked alongside residents to strengthen our neighborhoods, support local businesses, mentor youth, and bring people together through action—not just words. I believe leadership begins by showing up, listening, and finding practical solutions that improve everyday life.

As Mayor, I will prioritize public safety, economic growth, neighborhood revitalization, government transparency, and practical solutions to homelessness while investing in opportunities for our youth, seniors, and working families. My goal is to build a cleaner, safer, and more united Santa Ana where every resident has the opportunity to thrive.

I love this city because it is my home, and I believe our greatest days are still ahead. Together, we can move Santa Ana forward with leadership that is accountable, compassionate, and committed to every neighborhood. I respectfully ask for your vote and the opportunity to serve as your next Mayor and work alongside every resident every day.

Leadership guided by L.O.V.E

Listen

Hear residents before decisions are made, in every neighborhood.

Opportunity

Youth, workers, and small businesses with a real path forward.

Value

Seniors, people with disabilities, caregivers, and families first.

Equity

Fair, respectful service and accountable city government.

A message to Santa Ana

I, Dwayne Shipp, intend to run for Mayor of Santa Ana because I believe our city deserves leadership that puts people, service, fairness, and community before politics.

Santa Ana is a city of hardworking families, seniors, young people, small businesses, caregivers, and residents from every background. Our city’s strength is found in its people. Yet too many residents feel overlooked, unheard, or treated differently depending on the neighborhood they live in, the connections they have, or the barriers they face. I am running to ensure every resident receives equal treatment, respectful service, and a real opportunity to be heard.

As Mayor, I intend to advocate for a city that listens before it acts, follows through after making commitments, and measures success by whether everyday residents can feel the difference. My leadership will focus on L.O.V.E for seniors, people with disabilities, caregivers, families, youth, workers, and small businesses, homelessness and mental health. I will work to strengthen neighborhood services, improve public-space accessibility, create opportunities for the next generation, and make city government more responsive and accountable to the people.

My campaign is guided by a simple principle: Love is always first. Love in leadership means listening to residents, treating people fairly, respecting every neighborhood, and making decisions that protect the dignity of the entire community. It means replacing division with unity and replacing empty promises with clear action.

I do not claim to be perfect. I have learned from my experiences, and I understand that accountability is part of growth. I am running because Santa Ana needs leadership that is honest about challenges, willing to do the work, and committed to delivering results.

I intend to bring community-first leadership to the Mayor’s Office. Leadership that serves rather than performs. Unites rather than divides and ensures that no resident is forgotten. Together, we can build Santa Ana where every person — regardless of age, ability, neighborhood, background, or circumstance — has access, opportunity, respect, and a voice in the future of our city.
